About MEDLOK

Medlok fittings for medical gas systems are a faster and safer alternative to brazed connections on copper tubing. In combination with the Medlok press tool, these axially swaged fittings create a permanent, threadless, mechanical, metal-to-metal seal making them NFPA 99 code compliant. This method of connecting medical gas tubing drastically reduces facility downtime, disruptions in patient care, and interruptions in staff productivity. Due to its contaminant-free and flame-free installation, Medlok fittings eliminate costs associated with brazing including hot work permits, fire watch personnel, and nitrogen purging, and eliminates fumes, sparks, and smoke. Certified installers will achieve a consistent, repeatable, and dependable connection using provided gages and templates to confirm proper installation. The tool and fitting produce an audible “snap” validating that the connection has been made ensuring a secure seal regardless of an installer’s skill level. The Medlok fitting was designed using two proven sealing technologies; the twin ferrules of a compression fitting and the ball bearings of a quick-connect. Our fittings have undergone rigorous testing to ensure compliance with NFPA 99 code requirements and are proven to perform above and beyond a brazed joint withstanding the burst of the tube. These robust fittings are made of brass and stainless-steel materials and are manufactured in Cleveland, Ohio along with the press tool. Medlok is widely recognized as the gold standard of braze-free fittings by healthcare systems, dental offices, labs, and veterinary clinics. Due to enhanced safety requirements within these industries, this method of sealing medical gas systems is also specified by many Architecture and Engineering firms. The combination of productivity, reliability, and safety allows functioning facilities to maintain focus on patient care with minimal disturbances and reduces overall costs associated with a facility shutdown.
