MedMicroMapsXR is an educational Quest VR app, geared for aspiring health sciences learners from K12 to graduate levels. We are closing the communication gap from a GenX professor to GenZ learners with AI and immersive experiences. Coming soon to Meta Horizons in May!
MedMicroMaps is a novel way to learn microbiology with color-coded microbes, created during the pandemic when Dr. Jane witnessed the struggles of visual learners with text-heavy content. The interactive PowerPoint "Atlas" is a comprehensive mind map of all infectious diseases with directional ranking and spatial patterns. The pilot study in 2022 with year 2 medical students (n=2,600) showed 92% adoption with a website garnering 16K views in 1 year.
The project experienced a major boost in Fall 2024 with the National Science Foundation SBIR Phase 1 award. Team MedMicroMaps is working diligently to create a microscopic virtual world to educate aspiring health science learners. Through AI-XR technologies, Dr. Jane is converting her 25 years of microbiology experience to a fun learning solution for her daughter's and granddaughter's tech-saavy generations.
