Birmingham Maths Education Development Partnership

Learning how to understand and use maths and data effectively is crucial for individual, local, regional and national success, yet many young people in Birmingham are not achieving the maths qualifications they need to achieve their potential. Birmingham Maths aims to build collaborative relationships between school leaders, businesses, and teachers of maths, with a common mission to improve the maths education outcomes of young people throughout the city. Linking with established, government-funded national initiatives, we are working to improve maths education for the young people of Birmingham, informed by detailed local knowledge. We aim to provide opportunities for high-quality professional development for teachers, training and support for curriculum development, networking opportunities, enrichment activities for students and support to improve teacher recruitment and retention.
