MedTech UoN

MedTech is a University of Nottingham student led collaborative society, which provides a platform for the exploration and appreciation of emerging innovative medical technology. The society aims to bring together like-minded individuals, regardless of whether you study medicine, business, computer science or engineering etc, to introduce you to exciting advanced technologies, as well as some fantastic innovators and entrepreneurs who have had a powerful impact on how healthcare is delivered. The main aim is to bring together a community of creative, forward-thinking students who appreciate the potential of MedTech and recognise the importance of the different subject fields required in the creation of a medical technology company. The Objectives for MedTech this year are: 1) To host workshops exposing students to the relevant skills required to start/ join a MedTech company. 2) To organise events which aim to inform and educate students regarding MedTech advancements. 3) To organise events which expose students to brilliant entrepreneurs, innovators, and founders of MedTech start-up companies. 4) To create networking opportunities for students interested in a career surrounding medical technology. Whether you are a computer science student intrigued by the use of virtual reality (VR) in the treatment of psychiatric disorders, a business student excited by the use of blockchain technology in the storing of patient data, or even a medical student thrilled by artificial intelligence (AI) in robotic assisted surgery, this society welcomes you. We look forward to sharing a year full of opportunities.
