Meeting for Minds is a not-for-profit Foundation registered in Australia in 2014, and Switzerland in 2015.
Meeting for Minds' objective is to create a new and innovative style of research into the brain and disorders of the brain that involves those with the experience of mental illness, not just as test subjects but rather as partners in research. We are not a mental health support service or a service provider.
Meeting for Minds believes that research conducted on the brain and disorders of the brain stands to be a distinct source and focus of hope for those affected. The current approaches in this area of research are fragmented, without a unified focus and not driven by the pressing needs of those affected.
We have been concentrating on building a bridge between brain researchers, clinicians and people with lived experience of mental illness (PLEX) through fostering conversations, involving prominent leaders in these areas.
