Melis & Du Plessis Consulting Engineers have been in existence for 40 years, providing specialist consultancy services in the fields of Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology with particular emphasis on dams, underground construction, slope stabilization and rockfall mitigation.
The company operates nationally and regionally in Southern Africa from offices in Somerset West in the Helderberg substructure of the Cape Town Metropolitan Council.
Melis & Du Plessis provides consulting services to a wide range of clients including local and national government bodies, large civil engineering contracting companies, insurance companies, developers, municipalities, and to other consulting civil engineers a specialist advisers
Over the years the practice has developed its own computer software and has also acquired and operates several specialised software and GIS needed for geotechnical analyses and the modelling of underground excavations in rock.
Suitably qualified and experienced professional and technical support staff assist the principals. In addition to their own permanent technical staff, Melis & Du Plessis are supported by a number of associated specialist consultants on an on going but project related basis.
