Metastatic melanoma is a hard-to-treat disease and it remains as one of the most worrisome cancer.
There is an urgent need to improve the current therapies (chemotherapy, radiotherapy) that have a limited efficacy.
MELOMANES aims to train 12 doctoral researchers for the development of a combined therapy exploiting the properties of magnetic nanoparticles to induce damage on the tumor microenvironment by magnetic and optic hyperthermia in order to facilitate the infiltration of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cells, a promising new type of immunotherapies.
MELOMANES is a Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network. It is formed of 25 academic and non-academic participants from 11 European countries with unique and outstanding expertise: CNRS, University of Vienna, NovaMechanics Ltd, Misvik Biology Oy, Idival, Invectys, Oslo University Hospital, Stichting Vrije Universiteit (VU), CN Bio Innovations, EMPA, INSERM, Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Nanotherics, Pepric, Lithoz, First Five Consulting, Malsch TechnoValuation, European Certificate & Qualification Association GmbH.
