The partners at Meltzer & Bell, P.A. have a keen understanding of both sides of the criminal case. Attorney Steven Bell gained a passion for defending those in need of assistance though his experience in the Broward County Public Defender’s Office. He quickly moved up in the ranks and was promoted to the Assistant Public Defender in charge of the Juvenile Division. Through his work, he helped indigent adults and youth overcome criminal charges. This helped refine his trial tactics and stoked his passion for defending people before a sometimes unfair justice system.
Lawrence Meltzer began his career in criminal law as the Assistant State Attorney with the Broward County State Attorney’s Office where he tried over 60 jury trials in the county court division. This experience provided him with a deep perspective on how to find weakness in the prosecution’s case and therefore build a strong defense strategy. Lawrence met Steven after trying cases together at opposite sides of the aisle. Through that experience they gained mutual admiration of each other’s abilities, which led to the formation of Meltzer & Bell.
The team at Meltzer & Bell understands the stress that comes along with any criminal charge and strives to keep your best interests in mind throughout the case. They proudly represent individuals facing charges including DUI, marijuana and drug possession, and juvenile offenses, among others in the Palm Beach community.
