The Owner - Winemaker Nicos Aristeidou was literally “born in the vineyard”. Coming from an agriculture family in the village of Monagri Limassol, was from an early age engaged in the art of viniculture and wine making.
After a break for studies in Toronto Canada, and his professional restoration as Senior Customs Officer, he is determined to deal anew with the wine. So in 1987 revives the lab where his grandfather and father used to produce Commandaria for 70 years.
Beginning and experimenting with the production of various types of wines – red and white dry, sparkling etc. – managed year by year to evolve with quality as well with quantity, reaching the production to fifty thousand bottles per year.
In 2002 he drops his permanent job as a Customs Officer in order to be entirely devoted to his vision, the production of high quality Commandaria. Winery was upgraded with space for visitors reception and free wine tasting. At the same time he produced two new types of wine Commandaria and Muscat of Alexandria.
The winery in 2018 unveiled for the first time its vintage 2011 Commandaria. The results were impressive having won several awards in international competitions with the gold medal in 2018 Paris, in the international contest of the Association of Oenologists of France (Vinalies Internationales) being its best.

As a result of the multiple awards in a single year, Menargos Commandaria 2011 have been announced as Wine of the Year 2019, by World Association of Writers and Journalists of Wines and Spirits.
This gave a new impetus to this small family business in which an integrated role is given to Mr. Nicos’ children, transferring experience and knowledge in the third generation of producers.
