Men End FGM – A global award winning movement that rallies men and boys to join the quest to end female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C), child marriage and other forms of sexual and gender based violence (SGBV) subjected to women and girls.
It was launched as an online campaign (#MenEndFGM) in 2013 by Tony Mwebia with the main objective of challenging activists, CSOs and government agencies to engage men and boys in their campaigns to end FGM/C, child marriage and other forms of SGBV. In 2015, young Kenyan activists began joining the movement and it was finally legally registered as the Men End FGM Foundation in 2019. The movement draws its membership from both individuals and community-based organizations (CBOs).
Additionally, Men End FGM Movement strives to empower boys, young men and the elderly through the transformation of negative masculinities.
