We advocate a holistic approach to building children and young people’s resilience to risk in order to empower them to make positive choices that support their physical, mental and social well-being as they transition into adulthood. This approach considers the many inter-related risks young people face, and supports effective, evidence-based prevention in the home, at school and in the community. We do this by ensuring: - Every child in the UK receives sufficient, appropriately delivered evidence based alcohol and drug prevention in school. - Parents have free access to the best information and support to help them protect their children from alcohol and drug harms, and related risky behaviours. - Policy makers prioritise prevention and early intervention.
