Founded in 1920 by Harold Aubrey Merchant, a former mayor of Ealing, the firm has always been based along the Uxbridge Road in the Ealing and Acton area. In February 2015 the firm merged its practice with Mackinlay Simpson Ltd based in Kensington to form Merchant Mackinlay Simpson Ltd. We have many clients in the local community and service businesses, small and large, across many sectors. As well as general accountancy, audit and tax skills, we also have individual specialist skills which enable us to provide clients with a first class service as and when required. With our wealth of experience we pride ourselves on delivering an unparalleled service to all clients, whatever their size or sector. Merchant & Co is currently run by Ketan Patel. Educated in London, he started his audit training in a London based West End practice before moving to Touche Ross & Co (now Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited). After leaving Touche Ross & Co he started his practice in 1990. Ketan deals in all areas of general practice and specialises in media, the medical profession and the construction industry.
