Founded in 1976 by René Schmitz and Jean-Paul Mersch, the general technical contractor MERSCH & SCHMITZ Équipements Techniques du Bâtiment S.à r.l. began its activities in Luxembourg City.
In 1978, the company moved into a new building in Holzem.
In 2002, following significant growth, the company thoroughly reorganised its activities and underwent a major restructuring. The company MERSCH & SCHMITZ has been sub-divided in two companies:
