Mesén

At Mesén we are five colleagues working with curation, production, and communication of public art. As project managers, we are responsible for planning and coordination, process, scheduling, and finances. We realize both small and large projects, working closely with artists in all phases of the project, always on the artist's own terms and with the project’s best interest in mind. Our goal is to play a lead role in the field of contemporary art, developing public art projects with a sensitivity towards people and place, in collaboration with municipalities, counties, institutions, and private companies. Among other things, we work in hospitals and schools, in squares and meeting places, and with temporary art projects commenting on urban development. It inspires us to work with critically engaged art that can reflect our contemporary culture. Since 1999, Mesén has aspired to be a creative producer for experimentation, production, and communication of public art, outside the framework of the established art institutions. We are based in Oslo but work on projects all over the country.
