The Messenger showcases student work in Poetry, Fiction, Nonfiction, and Visual Arts. Each fall semester, students are invited to submit their work for publication in the spring. The Messenger staff conducts a blind review of every submission, putting together a free, student-designed book for the campus community.
Poetry and prose submissions to The Messenger are considered for the Margaret Haley Carpenter Award for Poetry and Margaret Owen Finck Award for Creative Writing, respectively.
