MEST is the artistic and research practice of Gabriela Mestriner, created to explore the space between concept and matter. Moving between functional and conceptual sculpture and spatial interventions, the work is grounded in material experimentation and driven by a desire to connect making with meaning. Rooted in architecture and expanded through art, each piece reflects a tactile, reflective process — a way of thinking through the hands. Founded in 2024 in New York, MEST honors a multidisciplinary path shaped by cultural heritage, sustainability, and collaborative creation. At its core, the practice is an ongoing inquiry: into tradition as a method, into how objects carry memory, and into how material itself can become a way of thinking.
