Metanoia In Action

Metanoia is a nonprofit organisation, founded in July 2020, which aims to spread awareness about issues faced by college students such as bullying, peer pressure, body shaming, respect for women, mental health, etc. One key aspect that makes Metanoia stand out from other such organisations is that it focuses on the subtle and indirect nature of these issues. Metanoia pivots around the behaviours underlying these issues that no one addresses. Example: When college students are asked about peer pressure or body shaming, most of them deny having experienced it. It might be because in most cases, it is never done explicitly. It is extremely subtle through casual jokes, taunts or mean comments. Metanoia’s first two audio dramas (available on Instagram - @metanoia_in_action) succeeded in depicting these subtleties. Hence, Metanoia’s aim is to spread awareness about the adverse impact that one’s casual jokes or mean comments can have on people. It wants people to realise that their seemingly casual actions can easily plant seeds of insecurity in a person’s mind. Thus, Metanoia urges people to be more kind and sensitive towards others.
