About The Metropolitan Society for International Affairs
The Met Society is the newest US Foreign Policy Think Tank based in New York City. It is our mission to develop new principles, ideas, approaches and objectives for US foreign policy in the 21st Century, to position the country to capitalize on its best strengths, and adapt to a changing international environment. We work to bring together the next generation of analysts, writers, researchers and academics, to produce innovative, accessible media materials across the full suite of formats on these topics, and to develop and host engaging, educational public events to share our work with members of the public. We are also working on a methodological research project, Global Narratives, that is exploring possibilities for the quantification of emergent forecasts and risks in global politics and perform scenario planning in foreign affairs. We post regular updates on our ongoing policy research memos and analysis of international politics, as well as link to our podcasts, and our Global Narratives project. You can sign up for our newsletter, view our upcoming events, inquire about membership, or make a donation! We look forward to hearing from you! The Met Society runs public events in New York City, and soon to launch events in Washington, DC, as well. Our monthly "Global Politics and Beer" gathering features attendance and analysis from our talented research Fellows in a fun and casual environment. We want to be informative, yet accessible. Our monthly events are built around the idea of the "Un-Panel." Rather than sit through a discussion given to you from afar, our speakers, fellows and guests join the discussion on the same level. We offer a simple, insightful introduction, and then you can ask your questions directly and in-person, not from the audience to the stage
