METU Large Subsonic Wind Tunnel

METU-RÜZGEM Large Scale Subsonic Wind Tunnel (METU LSSWT) is an atmospheric closed loop low subsonic wind tunnel driven by 6 axial fans totaling up to 2.4 MWs of power. It has a modular interchangeable design and has three different test sections including a 2.5 m x 2.5 m high speed test section that can reach up to 100 m/s, a 7 m x 3 m boundary layer test section with max 30 m/s wind speed and an open-jet that can reach up to 75 m/s. It is very well instrumented with pressure scanners, aerodynamic load measurement systems including a 44 mm internal balance and various flow measurement systems such as a high-speed PIV system and hot-wire anemometry. METU-LSSWT is a member of Subsonic Aerodynamics Testing Association (SATA) since 2023.
