The project aims to develop a new, optimized stimulation coil and an associated high-power pulse source with a variable pulse shape, which will allow the current possibilities in research and therapy to be expanded, especially in the form of a mobile variant (TMS wearable). This also opens up new therapeutic possibilities, e.g. therapy of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Certification in accordance with medical device standards is being sought for this purpose.
The new stimulator will be evaluated with regard to its improved performance profiles, for which neurophysiological, neuromotor and psychological tests/measurement stations will be developed and used. A clinical study on therapeutic efficacy is also planned.
