Manufacturing 4.0

Manufacturing 4.0 is a Finnish Strategic Research Council (SRC) project that concentrates on the technical, economic, and social aspects related to future manufacturing. The focus of the project is to understand, study, and draw conclusions on the Finnish perspective of the future challenges and requirements created by the changes in the manufacturing sector. The project consists of seven working packages (WP) of which three are technical, one business oriented, one education oriented, one social policy oriented, and one concentrates on the futures of manufacturing (futurology). The idea is to create and gain a good understanding of where Finland and Finnish companies can find points of strength in the way manufacturing is going to look like in the future and what we should do in Finland to prepare for the coming changes, in terms of education, social policy, and business models.
