Masaryk high school, secondary school of nursing and higher professional school of nursing Vsetin

Masarykovo gymnázium, Střední zdravotnická škola a VOŠ zdravotnická Vsetín is a secondary school providing general secondary education as well as medical education. Our students are being prepared for further university studies or for working in hospitals as nurses or medical assistents. Masarykovo gymnázium has a 4 years study programme ( students aged 15-19) and an 8 years study programme (from 11-19). There are 810 students, 70 teachers and 23 other employees in our school. Subjects taught in our school are: Czech language and literature, English, German, Spanish, French, Russian, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Music, Art, Physical education, Information technology and also special medical subjects. Our school has developed cooperation with the Science Faculty of Palacký University in Olomouc. Our students also take part in various competions: English, Spanish, French, German and Russian conversation competitions, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy and Biology competitions and others. After school activities have also a long tradition in our school. We have two choirs – Song and Gaudeamus, which give performances for students and the public and take part in various competitions in our republic and abroad. School drama group puts a performance on stage every year. There is also a chess club at school and a sports club. Our students can take part in school trips abroad (England, Spain, Germany, France). These are organized regularly so that the students could practice the foreign language and get acquinted with the country whose language they have been learning.
