The overall well-being of employees is essential for business success, and Human Resources professionals play a key role in driving corporate initiatives. They are responsible for assessing psychosocial risks in the workplace and identifying areas for corporate well-being. Managing psychosocial risks and work-related stress are significant challenges in occupational health and safety. Consequently, HR managers must be trained to identify and manage these challenges effectively. The HR department plays a crucial role in advising and helping to resolve issues. While they are not psychiatrists, they should recognize early signs of mental health problems and offer appropriate psychological support within the company. Ultimately, it is crucial to equip HR professionals with the right tools to address this mental health challenge. MH4HRM is a European project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme that arises in response to the growing need to strengthen mental health competencies in European companies. Through this project, we seek to understand the basic characteristics of common mental illnesses in the workplace, identify their impact, and provide tools to HR professionals and departments to address them effectively.
