Youth Diplomats Society

The Youth Diplomats Society (YDS) is a student-led oratorical club from Millennia Institute (MI), currently the only academic Centralised Institution in Singapore. The club focuses on fostering global awareness through a diplomatic lens, providing platforms for its members to hone their public speaking abilities through engagements in debates on international issues and participation in Model United Nations (MUN) conferences. Through various training sessions and competitions, the club’s members are exposed to a wide range of diplomatic topics and development opportunities for critical thinking, research and negotiation skills. The club also organises events and activities such as guest speaker sessions, mock debates and cross-club exchange programmes to broaden its members' perspectives and enhance their understanding of different cultures and political systems. Helmed by elected executive committees, the club strives to empower its members to become effective communicators, informed global citizens and future leaders in the field of diplomacy.
