The Media Integration and Communication Center (MICC) was founded in 2001 at the University of Florence by the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research as a Centre of Excellence in new media. It is an interdisciplinary research center focused on computer vision, multimedia technologies for smart environments, natural interaction, web applications, and collective intelligence. MICC collaborates with national and international universities, research institutions, and companies, and is internationally recognized for its work in computer vision, artificial intelligence, and multimedia. Its applications include Industry 4.0, cultural heritage, surveillance, identity recognition, behavioral analysis, and scene understanding. MICC is also active in technology transfer, advanced training, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
