About Michigan Vertical Flight Technology
Electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles are something that have been dreamed of throughout aviation history. The push to make this technology an industrial reality has increased throughout the last few years, with many new designs becoming promising prototypes. Simultaneously, the push towards electric and hybrid vehicles for sustainability has made great progress. We have seen the largest growth take place in the car industry, with companies making ambitious strides to expand the use of electric vehicles. The next step that many around the world are working on is translating electric propulsion for use in aircraft. Michigan Vertical Flight Technology is a multidisciplinary student project team at the University of Michigan dedicated to the development of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. After two years of iterating on RC aircraft and competition concepts, we proudly to compete in the inaugural Vertical Flight Society Design Build Vertical Flight Competition which we earned first place in. This upcoming year, we'll be competing in VFS DBVF Competition once again.
