Michigan Advanced Limb Preservation Symposium

Our mission is to educate and enhance the understanding of advanced limb preservation, amputation prevention, peripheral artery disease, and critical limb ischemia by providing an impactful quality learning experience focused on diagnosis, treatment, cutting-edge technologies, progressive techniques, and innovative procedures with a goal to improve healthcare provider knowledge and patient outcomes. The intended audience for this accredited symposium includes health professionals with an interest in advancing their knowledge of limb preservation to include interventional cardiologists, interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, general cardiologists, internal medicine physicians, primary care physicians, podiatrists, physician assistants, nurses, cath lab technologists, and all other relevant healthcare providers. Learning Objectives: 1) Discuss comprehensive multidisciplinary best practices for patients in need of advance limb preservation treatment due to peripheral artery disease (PAD) and critical limb ischemia (CLI). 2) Examine procedural and technological advances in wound care practices, podiatric treatment, and foot and ankle surgery for patients facing major amputation due to PAD, CLI, non-healing wounds, and gangrene. 3) Review medical therapies, surgical options, and endovascular devices available to improve outcomes for patients at risk of major lower extremity amputation.
