Wornardt Ph.D and Dr. Peter R. Vail pioneered, developed and perpetuated the concept and methodology of Well-Log Seismic Sequence Stratigraphy, the integration of High Resolution Biostratigraphy, Well-Log Signatures and 2D/3D Seismic. Dr. Wornardt refined this technology, using diversity and abundance histograms from checklists of fossils to recognize and identify age datable Maximum Flooding Surfaces, providing scientists with a method to consistently correlate Well-Log signatures and continuous 2D/3D reflectors above and below the salt. Subsequently, Dr. Vail and Dr. Wornardt initiated this methodology as a workshop in 1990, entitled Well-Log Seismic Sequence Stratigraphy. This workshop was presented to thousands of Geologists, Geophysicists and Managers in numerous countries worldwide. Dr. Wornardt continues to present workshops to various companies and governments by invitation.
