The microelectronics research center in three research groups: VLSI, the design of analog ICs and DSP’s affiliated to the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) was approved at the meeting of 27/2/82 of the Council on the extension of higher education and its constitution was approved by the Council. Following the announcement by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on November 21, 2003, the IDRO launched a research center and, in this regard, set up a building in Amir Abad region of Tehran for the establishment of the Purchasing Research center and has begun its activity by attracting the necessary manpower.
Since its founding, the Research center has been supported by Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran its intellectual and intellectual support. By 2009, various research projects have been carried out ,some examples are: Phase Shifter – Rural Internet – Smart Card Simulator, and in the subsequent years, the project Design and construction of a sensory system for cognitive radio networks, project designing and manufacturing of a series of free-end telescopes by MEMS, the project of compiling of a roadmap for microelectronics of the country, compiling a strategic microelectronic document, monitoring the project of the intelligent automobile communication system CVT, design and manufacture of atmospheric temperature plasma, collector buttery and spectrometer, WiMAX antenna, several research teams are currently active on various aspects.
Due to the assignment of specialized companies in the field of electronic and microelectronics, ICT (internet of objects, macro data …), bioelectronics (medical equipment, sensors, etc.), power electronics (electric car, Electromotors, inverters, etc.) and renewable energy and energy efficiency optimization, the research institute can serve as the specialized arm of the IDRO research in the field of design, implementation Microelectronics industry.
