Microgrid Initiatives

Microgrid Institute is a collaborative organization that addresses key issues affecting the development of microgrids and distributed energy resources (DER) around the world. Efforts focus on market development and analysis, regulatory and financial models, and project feasibility and structuring. Objectives: - Initiate and manage collaborative work to study issues affecting microgrids and DER. - Study tariff structures, regulatory policies, and market structures, and provide guidance on models and best practices. - Provide analysis and support toward the development of microgrid service contracting arrangements, risk-management approaches, and financing structures. - Study microgrid technology, interconnection, integration, interoperability, and optimization in the utility grid. - Research markets and support microgrid promotion and development.
