migalle.com is the online home of the work of Toronto artist Gail Leija. My work explores the shifting boundaries between the natural, the human, and the synthetic, navigating the liminal space between the organic and the artificial. My goal is to remind us of the beauty in imperfection and of the constant interplay between chaos and order. I aim to evoke a sense of wonder and reflection in an open-ended way which encourages audiences to complete the experience for themselves as they balance their recognition of the familiar with the mystery of the unexpected.
