Mighty Paws LA

Hello, my name is Maya Rita. Back in 2013 a friend trusted me to take care of her English Bulldog, which became my first foray into doggie caretaking. I realized it came naturally and was something I greatly enjoyed; before I knew it, I found myself taking on other clients. Through word of mouth my network grew, and before I knew it, I was busy walking, running, and visiting with dogs across town. Developing relationships with my clients and their dogs was the most rewarding part of my job, along with getting to know and bond with each pet’s individual personality. I have continued to invest in and further my dog care education over time, including an intensive course through the Bay Area-based company Dog*Biz. Some areas I’ve been professionally trained in include proper dog walking gear, safety protocols, and positive reinforcement techniques for walks and behavioral training. I’m also American Red Cross certified in first aid, specifically for cats and dogs. Three years ago I settled into central Los Angeles, which I now call home. After taking a short break from my business during this transition, the past period has shown me that I’m ready to bring Mighty Paws to the city of Los Angeles. I’m so excited to start up again in my new community, and begin to get to know the pups of LA. When I’m not walking and playing with your pets, I’m singing cover songs, working on an art zine, or teaching myself how to skateboard and code for fun. I look forward to continuing my dog care education, and plan to eventually branch out into the field of specialized dog training as well. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your furry best friends!
