Multiple Intelligence International School

The Multiple Intelligence International School (MIIS) was founded in 1996. It is the first educational institution in the Philippines that has based its approach on the multiple intelligence framework of Harvard-based cognitive psychologist, Howard Gardner. The MI approach, which is implemented in the United States and other countries, backed by recent research on how children learn, is truly responsive to the needs of the 21st century. MIIS is a progressive international school that offers programs from PreK-12. As a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) we are committed to being a premiere international institution that embodies the best practice and global trends in education. MIIS has become more than a school, for we have become a learning community that advocates for increasing the level of advocacy for progressive and developmentally-appropriate practices in education through year-round seminars. We have also worked cooperatively with the academe by opening our classrooms to requests for actual classroom practice and observations. The school has also helped in national educational reform through the MI Smart Start program that offers comprehensive school reform for public schools and day care centers in cooperation with the national government agencies. All students are also part of the MI KIDS CAN!: For Kids, By Kids Movement that allows students to exercise leadership through involvement in various advocacies for the environment and improving other people’s lives, through using their intelligences to make a difference.
