A Scandinavian heritage and unorthodox approach defines the abstract work of Mikael B. In his eyes, everything is possible, and looking at his art – we couldn’t agree more. LA-based artist Mikael B manages to transform impressions and experiences into an abstract design language that exudes energy and joy as he creates his conceptual works of art with spray and acrylic. As an urban contemporary artist, Mikael B has developed his own identity and special signature deeply rooted in his early years as a graffiti artist and graphic designer.
From the start, Mikael sought to depart from the traditional ways; he has his own, unmistakable style, which he is eager to share with the outside world. His life unfolds on the basis of awareness, being present, and living in the now.
His works are attractive and open to interpretation. It is art that we step into and experience with our entire body. A universe where everything can happen - a mindset that also permeates Mikael B’s life. He juxtaposes and challenges art historical references from Baroque to Cubism and Abstract Expressionism, expressed in utterly contemporary fashion with spray paint and acrylic.
Mikael rapidly made a name for himself when he created his abstract interpretation of a world map that went viral. It was followed by three extensive sold-out solo shows. He recently blew the Danish
art scene away with his 11,000 sqft solo show “Never Tomorrow”. With more than 8,000 guests Mikael broke records and created what’s considered to be the biggest solo show in Danish history.
His renowned work has been on view around the world, including LA, New York, Miami, Germany, Spain – and of course his home country Denmark.
Through his explosive climb to fame, international brands such as Mercedes Benz, Chase, LinkedIn, Google, Nike, and American Express have been lining up to take part in his visual universe.
