Mike served as Executive Vice President / Chief Revenue Officer in the exciting beverage alcohol industry for 38 years. Mike’s leadership allowed him to witness the evolution and growth of the Company. With more than 38 years of leadership, he passionately supported serving others to pursue and achieve their full potential, which brought energetic meaning to every day.
While serving the industry, he was a member of numerous brewer distributor national councils and sub-committees, as both a member to include his eight-year chairmanship of Heineken USA’s national council. He was also a member of the National Beer Wholesalers Association Managerial Board and Board of Directors. During his career he served on several panels, with the subject matter including advocacy for women in leadership, culture, and other business topics.
He has achieved leadership certifications from Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching and the Stagen Integral Learning Program. He is also a Certified Life Coach from the Life Coach Training Institute. Mike recently started Barnes Leadership and Strategy Coaching whereby he has been a keynote speaker on Authentic Servant Leadership for next generation leaders and the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission – NRC.
Mike is the author of Hardwired to the Heart – Authentic Servant Leadership – (Engage the Heart and Challenge the Mind). Mike is also an aspiring children’s book author with three new books, Happy Makes Me Happy, and coming soon Twins With Love x2 and Yay – It’s My First Day of School from Mr B’s Books all dedicated to love, care and kindness in the pursuit of making the world a little bit better.
