It targets legal professionals, corporate employees, young people and individuals encountering adversities. People are more open to talk about mental health, but they might think it’s intangible and harder to improve than physical health. But 45% of GP appointments in the UK are due to medically unexplained symptoms (MUS), which are largely related to mental health issues. GP often refer them to a psychological professional, but patients feel these professionals spend much time listening to their problems without doing anything else. Most mental health training focuses on raising awareness of anxiety, depression and simply self-help tools, which is far more inadequate to improve wellbeing. The PMWC fills in the gaps of existing (psychological) services.
