Mindfulness is paying attention to our present moment experience with kindness, curiosity and non-judgement. Positive Psychology is the science of happiness. Mindfulness can help to reduce stress, anxiety and conflict while positive psychology can increase resilience and emotional intelligence. Both mindfulness and positive psychology provide tools to increase wellbeing and happiness. The Mindful Therapies approach is a unique training that combines the ancient wisdom of mindfulness with the modern scientific understanding of positive psychology, improving communication in the workplace and in the home.
Mindful Therapies, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is the home for mindfulness in the North East. Established in 2013, we are a not for profit organisation dedicated to providing the benefits of mindfulness and positive psychology to as broad an audience as possible. This means that all of our profits go back into the community, helping our services to be accessed by as many people as possible, including those on low incomes.
We offer a variety of services including 8-week courses, retreats, workshops, drop-in classes and one-to-one counselling, coaching and mindfulness tuition.
We provide services to individuals, businesses and the voluntary and community sector. We can design and develop courses and workshops to suit your specific needs.
In 2015 we set up the Mindful Therapies Counselling Service, offering low cost mindfulness-based counselling.
