The El Morado District is known for the emblematic El Morado Mine, which was a center of mining activity since the beginning of the 20th century, consolidating a mining town that hosted more than 200 workers and their families. In the 1920s, it stood out for its rich copper veins, with grades of up to 20% and significant gold content. However, a devastating fire in the 1980s marked the end of an era, leading to the closure of the mine and the abandonment of the town. Today, the El Morado project resurfaces, located just 2 kilometers southwest of the historic mine. Here, we have rediscovered the same vein systems that once fueled the region's wealth. Since August 2023, the company has undertaken comprehensive exploration campaigns, including geological-structural mapping by specialists, drone photogrammetry, geochemical sampling, aeromagnetic surveys and 3D geological modeling. In November and December, the company drilled using traditional drilling, 250m in the Cecilia target, identifying meters-sized mineralized intercepts. Now, the company is exploring more targets and looking to start a 500 to 1,000m RC drilling campaign, simultaneously with mineral exploitation.
