About Minor Ventures LLC
Minor Ventures was a company created to launch entrepreneurial ideas, funding them and hiring management to create them. I founded the company in 2004 and along with managing director Ron Palmeri, ran the business until August 2010. Minor Ventures provided executive coaching, investments, staffing, and administrative support to the following: 8020 Publishing (now 8020 Media) — Produces the hybrid web/print magazines JPG Mag and Everywhere. GrandCentral — Sold to Google in 2007 for $65 million and later became Google Voice. Kareo — Delivers cloud-based software for independent practices to provide better patient care. OpenDNS — Hired management including CEO David Ulevitch and funded company through to profitability. Acquired by Cisco in 2015 for $635 million and later became Cisco Umbrella. Scout Labs — Sold to Lithium Technologies in 2010 for $20+ million.
