About Miro Gavran

MIRO GAVRAN is the most performed Croatian playwright and the most translated Croatian writer, born in 1961. His works have been translated into 42 languages. His books are published in 250 different editions at home and abroad. His dramas and comedies have had more than 500 theater premieres around the world and have been seen by more than four million theatre-goers. He also wrote scripts for television films Grandparents are Separating and Laughing Prohibited. In Vilnius (Lithuania), in 2013, the film How to Steal a Woman in Lithuanian was shot based on his comedy The Henpecked. He is probably the only living playwright in the world who has had a festival dedicated solely to his dramas and comedies. The festival known as the GavranFest was founded in the city of Trnava, in Slovakia in 2003, So far, it has been held in five countries: Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany and Serbia.
