High School DECA
DECA is a national organization for high school students preparing for a variety of career areas, with specific emphasis on the areas of marketing, management, merchandising, and entrepreneurship. Its local chapters and state/provincial associations are a division of National DECA, Inc. High School DECA is currently active throughout the U.S. and Canada. Activities promoted by High School DECA integrate with and enhance the student's high school curriculum. In addition, the organization's close ties with the business community provide both opportunities for members and an appreciation of the free enterprise system.
High School DECA membership is an essential resource for the future professionals that will benefit from marketing, management, and entrepreneurial skills and knowledge.
History
With a 75-year history, DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals since it was founded in 1946. As an integral part of marketing education, High School DECA enhances the education of Students with interest in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. To help its members develop key skill and competencies, High School DECA promotes competency based competitive marketing events, and achievement/recognition activities on local, state and national levels.
