Mitsui Prime Advanced Composites Europe B.V., oftewel ‘ACE’ zoals onze collega’s het noemen, is opgericht in 2018. Onze naam is een samenvoeging van de verschillende organisaties die aandeelhouder zijn. Zo hebben we Mitsui, dat staat voor Mitsui Chemicals Inc en Mitsui & Co, de handelsonderneming in Japan.
‘Prime’ is de afkorting van Prime Polymer, de derde aandeelhouder van ACE. Alle drie de bedrijven hebben hun hoofdkantoor in Japan.
We zijn de eerste Europese fabriek onder de vlag van de Mitsui Chemicals Group die zich bezighoudt met het produceren van PP-compound. De Mitsui Chemicals Group heeft een historie die veel en veel verder teruggaat dan onze geboortedatum. In 1912 werd er in Kyushu (Japan) een bedrijf gestart dat zich ging richten op de kolenindustrie. Vanuit die oorsprong is het bedrijf gaan groeien tot een multinational van formaat waar vandaag de dag ongeveer 17.000 medewerkers voor actief zijn.
Gelegen op het Chemelot terrein hebben we 2 locaties waarvan we actief de markt in Europa bedienen. Ons hoofdkantoor aan de Polymeerstraat is onze productielocatie. Daarnaast hebben we een kantoor waar vanuit R&D en Sales werkzaam zijn. Zij zitten op de campus van Brightlands, de R&D hotspot van de regio!
