Unity. - A Legacy for the Adoption & Foster Care Community The Mixed Roots Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (tax exempt public charity) and is the first and only national / global multicultural foundation for the adoptee community and their families representative of the international, domestic, and foster care adoption experience. Our vision is to improve the lives of those touched by adoption and foster care by leveraging philanthropy and grassroots fundraising through collaborating with individuals, businesses & organizations in the greater community to promote and support organizations, create awareness, and inspire future generations touched by adoption and foster care through strategic outreach, multimedia, and innovative grant making programs including mentoring and DNA testing.. By leveraging philanthropy and grass roots fundraising, we are able to provide and support more post adoption resources that address the full life cycle of the adoptee, we will be focusing on five core areas of community support: science, family & health, diversity, arts & culture, education & career development, business & technology, and financial planning & philanthropy. We will leverage the power of Mixed Roots Media to help message and create the awareness needed to empower adoptees and their families to share their own adoption experience as well as educate others about the important post adoption resources needed including mentoring, scholarship, fellowship and grant opportunities for all adoptees and their families.
