MKA Architects has built a reputation in original and high quality design since its formation in 1985. We aim to design and create high quality spaces and buildings which enrich their users and inspire their Clients. The practice is experienced in working in a wide range of sectors including commercial, education, housing (private and multi-unit) and public buildings. MKA have been involved in projects in most types of locations from rural to city centre. MKA have lengthy experience in the field of planning and have negotiated planning permissions in Green Belts, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB’s) and also successfully negotiated schemes through the PPS7 route. In addition we have experience working with listed buildings of all grades both in design and planning terms and also construction. Since its beginnings the practice has steadily grown in size so that it is now able to resource projects from the smallest tens of thousands to the tens of millions and still maintain the same approach to quality and innovation. MKA remain keen to develop projects of a “more intimate” scale. In addition to our design, planning and management skills, MKA Architects are committed to improving the quality of our built environment and as consequence have been part of design competition and award judging panels and have been represented on the South East Regional Design Panel (SERDP) and Kent Design Future (KDF) Enabling Team.
