The Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering(MME) was established in the year 2007 and is dedicated to the advancement of education and research in materials and metallurgical engineering. It had initiated teaching programs at the bachelor's degree level and master's degree level in 2007 and 2012, respectively. The department is having a B.Tech Programme on Materials Science & Metallurgical Engineering and an M.Tech Programme on Materials Science and Technology.T he research interests of the Department encompass Advanced Materials including nano-materials, thin films, ceramics, polymers, Structure-property relationship in metallic and non-metallic materials and advanced composites, in addition to the core areas like Process Metallurgy, Extractive Metallurgy, Physical Metallurgy and Mechanical Behaviour of materials. The Department has developed a few state-of-the-art advanced materials characterisation facilities to support industries.
Students from our department are shining in national-level examinations like GATE, BARC, CAT, etc. Our department holds a rank in placement status every academic year in core industries like Reliance Industries Ltd, Vedanta, as well as in non-core companies like Capgemini, EXL, Future First, etc.
