About MMS TOKYO

Established in 1911, Meiji Shipping Group is one of the oldest shipping companies in Japan. With nearly a century of experience in all aspects of ship-owning and management, today we enjoy a very comfortable position in the Japanese Shipping Industry. Now owning and managing wide range of vessels including handymax and panamax bulkers, Wood Chip Carriers, PCTC, and product and crude tank vessels up to VLCC size, the Meiji Shipping Group has a wealth of experience in most fields of the shipping industry, but, that being said, we are always ready to explore new horizons. In 2009, with an average age of 8.6 years amongst all our vessels and 4.4 years amongst our tankers, our young fleet offers the Charterer a safer more economical option for long term chartering. As we have recently been contracting an average of 2 new-buildings every year, we are making steady progress in expanding our fleet with high quality vessels and as a result the age of the fleet is projected to decline even further in the future.
