Microwave/Millimeter-Wave & Wireless Communication Research Lab. (MMWCL)
The rapid advancement in wireless communication technologies has fueled the tremendous success of telecommunications. Considering the importance of Micro- and Millimeter Wave technologies in the field of telecommunications and challenges in manipulating high frequency devices in the world and especially the importance of employing such techniques in our country, MMWCL was founded as a subsidiary of Microwave Millimeter-wave and Wireless Communication Institute (MMIC) at AmirKabir University Of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic Department of Electrical Engineering in 2004.
The MMWCL is currently conducting under supervision of Prof. Abdipour, Prof. Mohammadi and Dr. Askarpour. And its members' designations range from master honor's students to postdoctoral research associates. The unique expertise honed over years of theoretical and experimental work in wireless communication technologies, millimeter wave integrated circuits, antennas and wireless propagation are brought together to perform cutting-edge research on the important fundamental and application oriented fields and topics.
Mission and Goals
The mission of MMWCL is to conduct fundamental research for designing and developing novel electromagnetic structures, such as antennas and RF/Microwave/Millimeter-Wave circuits and systems, which exhibit new phenomena and demonstrate superior performance characteristics compared to their conventional counterparts. By developing innovative structures that advance the state of the art in the area, valuable contributions are made in the fields of wireless communications, digital signal processing, optical communications and active antenna Design.
MMWCL also serves an independent, unbiased arbiter of trusted measurements and standards to the government and industry.
