Mobofree initially focused on featured phones customer experience (as smartphone penetration is Africa is still under 10%) and has since optimize its mobile web version for smartphones also.
MoboFree allow its African users:
- buying, selling and swapping stuff between friends and community members.
- checking background of buyers/sellers (ratings, common friends, history, etc.)...
- online negotiation via chatting, private messaging and other internal communication tools.
Currently (June 2014) we have ~3.3 M registered users , having more than 2 Mio users in Nigeria. Currently project is growing with +3000 new registered users every day.
Once consolidated our leadership position in Nigeria, Mobofree is continuing its African expansion strategy, first establishing a leadership position in Uganda, Zimbabwe and Ghana followed by a second wave of countries before the end of 2014
