Modaai stands for mathematical optimization, decision analysis, and artificial intelligence. We do more types of math, but we wanted to keep our name short. In addition, we work on risk management and decisions under uncertainty, mainly in equities for the financial industry. We will keep the technical math jargon short, but in general we apply modeling techniques, optimization engines, and solution algorithms to industry problems. We are an authorized reseller for IBM and a Gurobi partner. Some problems can be solved with open source and some problems require heavier lifting. Our company started out as Optimized Financial Systems in 2012 when Josh left IBM to get his PhD from the University of Texas, but then grew into a company that works in numerous industries.
