Model Labs

Model Labs Project is a visionary initiative led by esteemed Prof. H. C. Verma that aims to revolutionise science education in India. The project is dedicated to updating high school physics laboratories by incorporating the latest scientific advancements, with the goal of modernising the science education in India. We believe that the education system in India has remained stagnant over the past several decades and envision an education system that evolves with the times, reflecting the latest scientific advancements. In the 21st century, as scientific discoveries unfold so rapidly, updating our education system is a challenging task. Despite this, many developed nations have managed to keep pace by regularly revising their curricula. In contrast, India struggles to align its education system, particularly in science, with these rapid changes. Our team consists of researchers and professors, many of whom are IITK alumni working in leading laboratories around the world, all united in our vision to elevate science education in India. In addition to it, we have some of the brightest students from IIT Kanpur supporting and advancing our efforts to drive this initiative forward. We are also in constant communication with top policymakers, both former and current, to gain their insights on implementing the proposed model. We are also engaging with leading corporate leaders who have expressed interest in supporting our initiative and establishing the physical model as proposed. This model will be located on the campus of Shiksha Sopan, adjacent to the IIT Kanpur campus, and is also envisioned to serve as an advanced, science-centric tourist attraction in the country. Currently, the team is focused on refining the framework for 11th and 12th-grade physics experiments, with the hope of expanding this model across the country.
